June 23, 2025: Finally got some more chapters written on The Man in the Mist, which I have now renamed The Mills House. I may include my short story, PEPPER, when I finally finish and publish it, as they are both set in the same house/world.

Also, I had a couple of small medical procedures, nothing major, and I had the flu for two weeks, so my apologies for the delay since my last update. :)

May 12, 2025: Writing and editing continue. I have my daughter doing some editing for me, so that's gonna be a bit weird based on the content in 'A Small Town' LOL. I am also rebranding and retitling three of my Novellas. A Small Town will be republished as 'Abbottsville', 'The Wild Things' will be republished as 'LUKA', and 'Hell to Pay' will be republished as 'The Devil's Game'. As such I have created new covers inspired by Stephen King's Desperation and The Regulators that form one image. You can check that out on the Media page if you like!

April 26, 2025: Editing continues. Thrift store purchases continue. I am officially retired but will have a month without pay before my pension kicks in, which will be interesting.

I haven't been writing much, but I have added a new scene to chapter 8 of A Small Town to set up a death in a later chapter. Just some foreshadowing that I think was missing. On a good note, my son has just been hired after almost a year out of work! Perhaps life is getting better. :)

 

April 6th, 2025, edited 5 chapters today and made some changes to AST. I have also been hard at work on a book trailer, which I uploaded to Social Media a few days back and neglected to post here. To see that, head over to the Media page, and you will see it as the 'Feature' Video at the top of the page. I am fairly proud of it, as I used all the free video clips I could find and did the narration myself (which I then ran through an AI editor to make it sound half-decent). I tried it with a Morgan Freeman AI voice, but that just ended up being hilariously bad. LOL

March 30th 2025, I've been very blocked lately. This is mostly due to the state of the world, and my retirement which is about to actually start at the end of April (I have been on salary continuance up until now), so there are money things to work out. As usual I have been procrastinating and doing other things like creating covers, other media, and posting my existing books on social media to try and promote them. Because I don't have enough WIPs on the go I also started another one that has been on my mind for a while and wrote over 2000 words. That is tentatively called Flightless Bird but I don't really like the title and have been toying with some others. I created a cover for it, of course, so you can see that in the media section. March 5th 2025, I wrote 1009 words today in 'The Man in the Mist' which is a big deal because I have had some bad writers block! Also my novella 'A Small Town' will be free this weekend March 7 - 9 and I have created some nice Instagram ads for the occasion. I will try to post them here for your enjoyment. ;)

Feb 22nd 2025, Working away at my book covers and trying to learn marketing at the same time. It's all very hard. Add to that the fact that I have lots to do for my retirement (organize my finances, find healthcare insurance and all that) and you have the perfect storm. Wish me luck. Added some new cover art to the media section if you are interested. A Small town has been finalized but Wild Things is still a WIP.

Feb 9th 2025, Published my short story collection 'Allan Fisher's Bad Choices' a few days ago and uploaded the book trailer for Hell to Pay today.

Jan 13th 2025, Been working away. I have published a collection of Science Fiction Short Stories Called 'The Unknowableness of the UNIVERSE' on Amazon and until Jan 16th my Novella 'The Wild Things' digital version is on a free promo!

Dec 2nd 2024, Wrote about 6 pages of The Man in the Mist today. Big Changes made too as I have rethought my character arcs and pacing.

 

Nov 19th 2024, I have officially retired at the age of 57! Wasn't actually my choice but it's still pretty sweet!
